It is well established in third world educational lore that the longer a female child stays in school, the older she is when she gets married and the lower the number of children that she ultimately bears. There is, of course, a direct relationship to the income level and overall well being as well. We plan to make education a key component of all economic and aid activity that we conduct in Bangladesh. The fairly significant deficiencies in literacy and basic education levels perversely makes it easier for us to expect an outsized impact with modest investments.
