Village School
BRF is funding a village school (K-4th grade) that otherwise would be unable to operate. The school serves a student body of 80-90 ultra-poor children; most of their families are unable to pay the school's nominal tuition of about 3 cents a month. BRF has committed to funding the school for the next five years at an operating cost of just about $100 per month. This pays for five teachers and a clerk. BRF is also considering a facilities grant of $2-$4K.
The beauty of this project is that the building and the infrastructure are already in place, and BRF was able to lever off the contributions, including the building and land, of prior donors.
