The idea here is to replicate the Savar Poultry project as well as supplement it with other ‘experimental’ agro-industrial projects. While the Savar project is located on roughly 5,800 sq. ft. of ‘borrowed’ land, the Dinajpur project is being planned on 1.3 acres of land currently under a purchase contract for about $7,250. This plot is located alongside the main highway between Dhaka and Dinajpur and is suitable for multiple purposes.
The plan would be to build multiple poultry sheds and have room left over to try a few other things. Specifically, I would like to introduce an educational component by building a single large classroom for basic literacy programs for children as well as adults. The classroom can double as training facility for other, commercial activities. The other commercial activities that are in the conceptual stage are small stage food processing /packing efforts (tomato paste, feed production etc.)
This will be developed more as I am able to find the right person(s) to lead the effort.
